2019 brings a continuation to my practice as a basket maker.
Recently I have been creating baskets sketches, using an art pad as well as pencil crayons, pastels and paint to visualize my ideas. The sketches also act as a kind of challenge, encouraging me to complete each vessel but also to help me encorporate more curvacious shapes, textures and even tassles. I find that by creating this sketch, it solidifies my choice in color palette, thus guaranteeing my artistic satifaction with each basket I make.
I make these both for myself, an as artistic way to store things but also on commission for patrons looking for functional art for their homes.
My baskets were recently featured in South Main Gallery's exhibition, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
